Roe v Wade Charity Project

Roe v Wade protects bodily autonomy rights – namely abortion and reproductive healthcare – for everybody. It will continue being important because it will continue being threatened. My special side project, started in summer of 2022, provides a creative way for people to donate to the cause while getting something physical to commemorate it. This project will continue indefinitely; as long as our rights are being threatened, I will continue to talk and make art for my community. Half of all proceeds from each piece in this project will go to organizations that support autonomy and healthcare. To see finished pieces from this project, check out my Adult Gallery.

How does it work?

This project is commission-based, meaning if you’re interested, you send me the pictures you want illustrated. They can be any amount of clothing and can be anyone you want – you, a loved one, etc – so long as I have consent from all parties involved; this means that anyone participating or providing photographs MUST be 18+. If you are under 18 and want your money to go to the cause, please specify when ordering anything safe for work from me. The pieces are priced as normal, so they’ll typically be between $15-25 depending on size and materials. They’ll also be in my typical style – no head and sometimes no limbs! As always, shipping is free.

After payment, I split up the money and send it where it needs to go! I do keep records and receipts if you require proof of purchase for taxes or personal records.

Where does the money go?

I change it up! I keep my eye on quite a few organizations and split it up federally and state by state as I go. Organizations I donate to include Cobalt, Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center, and the National Network of Abortion Funds, but if you have a suggestion for somewhere else that could use some money, don’t hesitate to let me know!

What is Roe v Wade? What does the overturning mean?

In layman’s terms, Roe v Wade was a ruling from 1973 in which the Supreme Court said that abortions were federally legal. Abortions cover a broad spectrum of reproductive healthcare – it’s not always fetuses. The recent ruling to overturn Roe v Wade puts a lot of people in danger, especially people of color, because it leaves the legality up to the individual states. Some states have enforced bans and are even pursuing new laws to persecute anyone who seeks reproductive healthcare, or assists those seeking, including medical professionals.
